Ms Lucky Kulkarni, Country Head-HR of Jeena & Company, was recently presented with the ‘HR Super Achiever (India) Award’ at the World HRD Congress presented by Times Ascent, for strategic HR intervention and driving the HR initiative for Jeena & Company. She was also commended for the company’s innovative HR practices, especially during the height of the disruption caused by the pandemic.

A senior HRD professional and change management expert, Ms Kulkarni has over two and a half decades of experience in creating and implementing strategies across human capital management with the aim to materialize the company’s vision in creating an ideal management team with effective governing policies and procedural protocols at every level. Ms Kulkarni’s professional experience is spread across various sectors, including manufacturing, IT and ITeS, Retail and Global Logistics.
Smart, beautiful and vivacious, ‘Lucky’ is the proverbial ‘beauty with brains’. Right from her school days she was a bright student and throughout her school, college, post-graduate studies and professional pursuits, she was acknowledged as a scholar. Having graduated in commerce from HR College, , she studied law and obtained the LLB degree from Government Law College, Mumbai. She did her Management from the prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. With a passion for more academic accomplishments, she completed the AHRM (Advanced Human Resource Management) from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and she also completed her MBA from Newport University.
Ms Kulkarni says “I am happy to deal with humans rather than statistics.” In the course of her career, she has not restricted herself to administrative issues but has also touched the lives of many employees. She has honed the skills of many fresher’s whom she has picked from various skill development centers, and has also been a guiding hand to differently abled persons, providing them training and helping them grow in their careers. ‘Lucky’ has a spiritual bent of mind and strongly believes in simple living and high thinking. When asked for her source of inspiration, she promptly replies, “My inspiration comes from the Bhagavad Gita, spoken by Lord Krishna to Arjuna more than 5248 years ago in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Bhagavad Gita is not only a religious book for the followers of a religious sect, but basically an operating manual for every human being. Its teachings were applicable not only in the past but in present also and will continue to guide human beings in the future too. I was not surprised when I came to know that the wellknown German poet Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe danced while putting the Gita on his head and when Harvard University included the Gita in its curriculum.”
