Will Maharashtra politics dance to BJP-Adani tune?

The Shiv Sena has taken an aggressive stand on the Adani group after the latter took over the Mumbai airport. In a show of strength recently, Shiv Sena activists vandalised all the signages referring to ‘Adani Airport’. The Adani group faces another unenviable situation as it is also in the race to take over CST railway station in Mumbai, and it will need all the support it can get from the state government.

Hence, the BJP government at the Centre has started hectic negotiations with the Shiv Sena to form a government in Maharashtra. But the Shiv Sena is not playing ball and has said it will not break away from the alliance with the Congress and the NCP.

Insiders say the Centre wants a quick resolution to the impasse so that several projects, including the bullet train project, are not stuck in Maharashtra.

Keep an eye on Maharashtra politics as a lot of business decisions Uddhav Thackeray Gautam Adani depend on the unfolding events.
