Vikas Ecotech Limited has announced that its R&D division is in a collaboration with King Khalid University of Saudi Arabia. This collaboration will strengthen its R&D activities and technology transfers, and will improve and augment its product offerings.

The R&D division of Vikas Ecotech, a DSIR- recognized centre of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is working on cutting-edge research in multiple fields with the aim of improving the environment, life and overall sustainability. Its R&D wing recently filed a patent in collaboration with King Khalid University, Abha 62529, Saudi Arabia on ‘A Process for the designing of Conducting Polymer Nanocomposites on Activated Carbon Membrane for the Removal of Bacterial Contamination from Polluted Waste Water’. This technology aims to develop a conducting polymer nanocomposite-based membrane which will help in removal of Ecoli and total coliform from waste water. These nanocomposites are economically feasible and can find widespread market usage compared to conventional waste water treatment methods.

Vikas Ecotech has thus found another active and prestigious partner in its pursuit of better, affordable and advanced technology-backed products.

King Khalid University is located in the Asir region in the southwestern part of Saudi Arabia. King Khalid University is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, like other Saudi universities, and is projected to be among the top 200 universities in the world by 2030.

In the field of scientific research, the university witnessed a strong presence of qualitative activities during the past year. This came via the registration of 26 patents and the publishing of 5,297 research papers in scientific journals, in addition to as many as 12,258 citations. The University City in Al-Qara’a also witnessed the establishment of central laboratories, including 67 research laboratories, through which the university seeks to enable scientific research for various sectors in the entire region. Moreover, the priorities of research work are focused on the environment, agriculture, and life & health sciences, in addition to advanced materials.

vikas Ecotech Ltd is a New Delhi-based company engaged in the business of speciality polymers and speciality additives and chemicals for the plastics and rubber industries, and caters to a wide horizon of applications in agriculture, infrastructure, packaging, electrical, footwear, pharmaceuticals, automotive, medical devices and components, and other consumer goods.

Vikas Ecotech is the only manufacturer of Organotin (heat stabilizers for vinyl applications) in lndia with in-house R&D facilities, and is one of the handful of manufacturers of this product worldwide who have the technology and expertise for manufacturing this material right from tin metal to the final product. Vikas Ecotech is expanding its business and product portfolio, and has added many consumer (final) products to its conventional (raw material businesses) profile. The new business segments include infrastructure products like steel pipe fittings and MDPE pipes for gas applications.
