Realty slump across India

With massive real estate redevelopment projects going on in Mumbai, property prices are expected to fall in the new year, say real estate analysts. As per Anarock, housing sales in India’s top seven cities declined 4 per cent in 2024 from the year before while supply slipped 7 per cent.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the National Capital Region (NCR), Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata saw the maximum fall. Approximately 459,650 houses were sold in 2024 and 476,530 the previous year. Kolkata had the highest decline in sales, followed by Chennai.
