Has Zee chief’s charge doomed SEBI chief?

In a scathing attack, Zee group founder Subhash Chandra has accused SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch of corruption.

Chandra, who defaulted on bank loans a few years ago, has paid part of the bank debt by selling his majority stake in Zee Entertainment Enterprises.

Chandra also planned a lifeline deal to merge operations with Sony India, but the merger was nixed with SEBI accusing Chandra of funds diversion from the company.

The battle between Chandra and Madhabi will certainly lead to a bloodbath, with the SEBI chairperson likely to be shunted out by the government citing her ‘bad behaviour’ with SEBI employees.
