Tata Motors is set to capture investors' attention as its subsidiary, Tata Technologies Ltd, enters the market with its much-anticipated IPO debut. In the previous session, Tata Motors' shares surged by 2.09%, reaching Rs 712.15 on BSE, signalling positive momentum ahead of the listing.
Ahead of the IPO, Tata Motors approved the transfer of 60,850,278 equity shares to investors who subscribed to the Tata Technologies IPO. Notably, Tata Motors still maintains a significant stake of 53.39% in Tata Tech, despite transferring a substantial number of shares to various investors. The move is part of the broader strategy to unlock value and leverage the potential of Tata Technologies in the market.
Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle company and the fourth-largest player in the passenger vehicle segment, has seen a shift in its shareholding structure. The company's ownership in Tata Tech has decreased from 64.79% to 53.39%, reflecting the transfer of equity shares and the dynamics of the IPO.
As per market buzz, Tata Technologies is generating considerable interest, with a premium of Rs 425 in the grey market. This hints at a potential 85% listing pop, showcasing the enthusiasm among investors for the debut of Tata Tech on the stock exchange.
Tata Motors, with its subsidiaries and global associates, operates on a global scale. Notably, its ownership of Jaguar Land Rover, featuring iconic British brands - Jaguar and Land Rover, has contributed to the company's resilience in the face of macroeconomic challenges. Strong demand for JLR products, particularly the aspirational Land Rover brand, has played a crucial role in Tata Motors' robust performance.
Anticipating competition in the Indian electric vehicle market, Tata Motors is gearing up to leverage its first-mover advantage. The strategic approach involves offering a diverse range of products at various price points and committing to introducing 10 new EV models, aligning with the outlined plan.
