According to a recent survey conducted by US-based consulting firm "Morning Consult," Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the world's most popular leader with a staggering approval rating of 78%. The survey, titled "Global Leader Approval," analyzed 22 world leaders and compared their approval ratings based on data collected from January 26-31st of this year.
In the survey, PM Modi's approval ratings trumped other global leaders, including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. PM Modi received a 78% approval rating, while US President Joe Biden received 40%. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador came in second place with 68% approval, followed by Swiss President Alain Berset with 62%.
The year 2022 was a landmark year in India's foreign policy history, with PM Modi's advice of "this is not an era of war" to Russian President Vladimir Putin resonating with the world. The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict had put the world on the brink of a World War III, but PM Modi chose to take a peaceful approach, advocating for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the issue.
India's strategy in a multipolar world has been to avoid great-power competition and forge its own non-aligned path. 78% of respondents approve of PM Modi, while 18% disapprove of him. PM Modi's approval rating recently increased, standing at 79% in the third week of January.
Out of the 22 leaders surveyed, PM Modi ranked number one, with US President Joe Biden currently ranking number seven. Other leaders, including Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ranked among the last three in the list. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the newly elected far-right leader, was placed in 6th place with 52% approval ratings, while Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was placed in 4th place with 58% approval. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was placed at number 5 with 50% approval ratings, Canadian Prime Minister in 9th place with 40% approvals, and UK's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in 12th place with 30% approvals.
This latest survey shows PM Modi's popularity and influence on the global stage and highlights India's role in shaping a peaceful and prosperous future for the world. The results speak volumes about PM Modi's leadership and the trust that the people have placed in him. India's strategy in a multipolar world and PM Modi's emphasis on diplomacy and non-violence have been instrumental in establishing India as a responsible global player.
